uniform sales at school

FOMS will still hold occasional sustainable school uniform sales throughout the school year, after school as well as at lots of our events.

We ask for a small donation of just £1 for unbranded uniform items and £5 for Jumpers and cardigans with the school logo on (these cost £19 new!)

uniform donations needed

If your child has outgrown their uniform and you would like to donate any items to be reused, please drop them off at the school's main reception office at any time.

Donations of good condition jumpers/cardigans (school logo only), polo shirts, dresses, trousers, shorts, skirts, ties, bags and PE kits are all welcome, but please make sure they are washed, all names have been removed and they have no stains or other damage. Please only donate items you would be happy for your own child to be seen in!

PLEASE NOTE: We will not accept blue shirts and blouses as they are no longer part of Morgans School uniform.

why buy second hand?

Recycling

Second hand clothing encourages and develops a culture of recycling. Recycling garments is great for the environment and is a cheaper shopping alternative than buying new.

Textile waste

It is one of the best ways to deal with textile waste. Clothes often get dumped after a few wears, which generates a large amount of waste. Second hand clothes get used by a new person for a few more years, and this extends the lifespan of the garment. But when those garments are used to their fullest capabilities, then clothing can take up to 10 years before ending up in landfill.

Eco-friendly

Clothes manufacture causes damage to the environment, loss of habitat for animals, and pollution of natural resources.

A huge amount of water and chemicals go into manufacturing our garments. Approximately 1,800 gallons of water are required to make one pair of blue jeans. If the clothes are recycled we are living a more sustainably. The water that is used to make these clothes, instead of getting lost as industrial waste, can now be used for other purposes, like drinking water.
